Softball Clinches FAA Title

Daniel Clarke
The St. Luke’s varsity softball team clinched the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) regular-season title on Thursday, May 5, with a 15-0 victory over Rye Country Day School.

The Storm produced another tremendous display against the Wildcats to wrap up the game in four innings and claim its sixth FAA championship in seven years.

St. Luke’s took a commanding 9-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on the back of a grand slam home run from Margot Seiden ‘25. Alex Bacher ‘24 pitched another no-hitter for the Storm, striking out 11 of the 12 batters she faced.

SLS is 6-0 in FAA league play, with just Hopkins School left to play on Monday, May 9. The team is the No. 1 seed for the upcoming FAA tournament, with a perfect 10-0 overall record on the season and three regular-season games still to play.

Captain Andrea DiTeodoro ‘22 is delighted with her team but knows they have a lot more work to do: “I am beyond proud of the team for winning another regular season FAA championship. It is a testament to our hard work, dedication, strong bond, and desire to get better every day. We need to keep up our hard work and focus for the remainder of the season to reach the rest of our goals. We are so excited to win this championship. We could not have gotten here without our commitment to each other, our phenomenal coaches, dedicated trainers, and amazing fans, but we have even more we want to accomplish.”
